Who I Am
I am Mehdi Hosseini, a backend engineer and Computer Science Master’s student at the University of Tübingen. I have spent the past five years building and shipping real software — not as a team member inheriting a codebase, but as a co-founder who owned the engineering decisions, the infrastructure, and the consequences when things broke.
I designed REST APIs, managed relational and non-relational databases in production, built containerized deployments with Docker, and learned how systems fail by being the person who had to fix them. That experience shapes how I think about software: correctness, reliability, and maintainability are not afterthoughts.
My current work at Robert Bosch GmbH puts me in a real production environment at one of the world’s largest industrial companies, working on SQL-driven quality management systems. My time at Deutsche Bundesbank gave me exposure to the kind of institution where data correctness is non-negotiable.
I am now deepening my theoretical and systems foundations through my Master’s degree — currently researching recursive query execution in DuckDB and working on AI and information retrieval projects.

This is where most of my practical depth comes from. I co-founded a software company and ran its engineering for five years.
What that actually means:
- Designed and built Python/Django/FastAPI backend services from scratch
- Owned the databases: schema design, query optimization, performance tuning (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Containerized everything with Docker; worked with Docker Swarm for orchestration
- Worked with Apache Kafka for event-driven processing
- Managed Linux servers, deployments, and debugging in production
- Made architectural decisions with no one else to second-guess them or clean them up
The most valuable part of this experience is the accountability — when something breaks at 2am, you fix it. That builds a different kind of engineering instinct than working inside a large team.

What I’m Looking For
